On Saturday, March 2, UE Local 150 members joined the Poor People’s March, held to commemorate the 800 people who die each day in America from poverty and low wages.
Local 150 President Sekia Royall, who spoke at the rally, said, “Us workers are really struggling to hold on to our jobs. We are burnt out from working overtime and have not been recognized for our work to keep the state afloat. We have been demanding that the state workers get at least $20 an hour or a 20 percent raise to survive.”
